Frequently Asked Questions
Booking in to see a pelvic health physiotherapist can be daunting, so here are the answer to the questions that I frequently get asked before people come to see me.
Frequently asked questions
My clinic is in House Seven in Tynemouth near the golf course, not too far outside of Newcastle on the North East coast. The full address will be sent in your booking confirmation.
There is lots of free on street parking outside the clinic.
You can absolutely still come to physiotherapy if you are on your period. If you feel comfortable we can still continue with any internal assessment or treatment, or if you feel more comfortable we can wait and use the session for all the other treatment options within physiotherapy. The internal aspect of pelvic health physiotherapy is a very small part.
No, the joy of private physiotherapy is that the only person that matters in your appointment is you. You will never need a referral to see me, and if we feel it is useful I am able to refer you to other healthcare professionals too.
All of my appointments are an hour to ensure that your sessions never feel rushed, and that we have enough time to help you feel confident with what you are doing outside of clinic.
Unfortunately I am not able to accept any health insurance. All appointments require pre payment, and a receipt can be provided for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement if you are on a cash plan.
As a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist I can help you with any of the challenges you may be facing with your pelvis. I also believe that the pelvis is affected by the whole body and will assess your biomechanics through a whole body lens. That being said, I am not a specialist in backs, necks, or joints in the limbs of the body, so if you need help with one of those then it is likely better to see a musculoskeletal physiotherapist.
All appointments cost £145 and last for one hour.
